Garena Free Fire has already started celebrating its third anniversary with the arrival of a new update. 3volution is being called the game’s ‘fan-focused’ update, as it aims to introduce fan-requested enhancements, as well as a host of fresh content. There’s lots to get stuck into here and discuss, so I’ve divided everything up into bitesized chunks.
Clash Squad’s second ranked season, and how to unlock the Golden G18
One of Free Fire’s most popular modes, Clash Squad, will enter its second ranked season today. Up for grabs this time around is an exclusive Golden G18, which you can earn by achieving Rank Gold III or above. Clash Squad has repeatedly been improved upon since its first season began early last month.
Every player-requested improvement
The auto-aim assist function has been tweaked for Clash Squad in response to player feedback. The game’s driving mechanics have also been altered to make for a more enjoyable driving experience, not to mention the fact that the max speed for vehicles has been increased. Once you’ve reached close to top speed, the camera will zoom out slightly to make things a little easier.
And it’s now simpler than ever to check out your progress in Clash Squad, with career stats being viewable from inside your personal profile.
New spawn island ‘The Runway’, Hayato Firebrand, and more
On top of all that, a brand-new spawn island called ‘The Runway’ has now landed. It should add some extra visual variety to the pre-match experience.
New items include Horizaline, which is basically a revive kit, and the AUG rifle.
The latest awakened character, Hayato Firebrand, has also arrived in-game. Those looking to unlock the character for free should join Free Fire’s anniversary event on August 22nd.
Free Fire’s latest character and pet
To finish things off, the update also signals the arrival of new playable character Luqueta and pet Mr. Waggor. Luqueta is a young football (or soccer) player whose Hat Trick ability boosts his max HP after every kill he makes.
Mr. Waggor is said to be the ideal pet for those who want to have an extra Gloo Wall grenade on hand at all times. Depending on how many Gloo Wall grenades you currently have, he can produce a new one every 80-120 seconds.
And that’s just about everything included in the game’s latest bumper update. Full patch notes can be found right here. And if you’re a battle royale fan who’s yet to give it a go, you’ll find Garena Free Fire up for download over on the App Store and Google Play.
