Game Stew’s Castle of White Night is a homage to classic first-person dungeon crawlers that delivers a surprisingly fleet-footed, intense take on what is a very old-school formula. The basic idea is that you’ll explore a series of complex labyrinths in search of loot and hidden treasures, attempting to take down 100 twisted souls as you go.
There be monsters here, of course – over 50 of the damned things. These guys range from quite literal pillars of flesh to giant goblins and beyond.
There are currently four unique characters to play as: Hero, a brave warrior and general all-rounder; Space Janey, a space princess with powerful ranged abilities; Falcon, a high-damage knight come directly from hell; and Iron Mary, a cyborg with helpful healing buffs.
Interestingly, the characters almost double as separate difficulty modes, with a clear difficulty rating assigned to each.
The studio mostly specialises in adventure games and RPGs, which makes Castle of White Night a perfect fit.
We’ve covered some of the team’s titles in the past, including The Lost Shield and Tower of Fortune 2.
If you’re a fan of the genre or the developer’s earlier work, you’ll find Castle of White Night available for purchase now as a premium title from over on the App Store priced at $2.99.
